Trip Introduction

During the tour, one will get to view the cultural along with the natural beauties of Nepal. The main attraction of the tour is Pokhara city. It is the city loved by the travelers. You will witness the mesmerizing sunrise over the majestic Himalayas from Sarangkot early morning. And during the stay at Kathmandu, you will view the richness of culture during sightseeing at durbar square.

On the day of trekking you will be accompanied by our professional guide with a comfortable tourist vehicle. Australian Base Camp is the one day hike which takes you through the terraced farmland and cultural village of Dhampus, Kande and Pothana. One can find guest houses as well as camping tent for their overnight stay. The spot is also the trekking route for the Annapurna Sanctuary and Annapurna Base Camp. The real name of Australian Base Camp is “Thulo Kharka” meaning big pasture. It used to be seasonal herding place of buffalo and cow herders from the villages bellow Dhampus and other. During 80's the people from Austria used to come here and camp for several days and found so beautiful and prisine which later was named as Austrian Camp. But Nepalese found it difficult and is called as Australian Base Camp. The hike starts from Kande and ends to Phedi.

 

  • Day 1 | Arrival at Kathmandu (1350m/4429 ft)

    Upon our arrival in the Tribhuwan International Airport (TIA) in Kathmandu, you will be greeted by a representative of MD Adventure Travel and Tours and drop to the hotel for check in. You will be given welcome drinks by the hotel upon arrival and during the formal formalities of the hotel. Stay overnight at the hotel.

  • Day 2 | Full day sightseeing

    After breakfast, drive for full day sightseeing covering: Pashupatinath temple, famous and sacred Hindu temple complex that is located on the banks of the Bagmati River. The temple was listed on World Heritage Sites list in 1979. This "extensive Hindu temple precinct" is a "sprawling collection of temples, ashrams, images and inscriptions raised over the centuries along the banks of the sacred Bagmati River" and is included as one of the seven monument groups in UNESCO's designation of Kathmandu Valley as visit here. It was built on 5th century by Lichchavi King Prachanda Dev. Bhatt and Bhandari priest performs the daily rituals. Boudhanath stupa, located about 11 km from the center and northeastern outskirts of Kathmandu, the stupa's massive mandala makes it one of the largest spherical stupas in Nepal. On 1979, Boudha Stupa is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Along with Swayambhu, it is one of the most popular tourist sites in the Kathmandu area. The stupa used to be where the Narayanhiti Musuem is at presently. As per the astrologers, only one with the battis gun was supposed to be sacrificed. While prince was only the one with such quality so, the king sacrificed the hen. The stupa at present is the place where the hen's head was fallen. After refreshment drive for sightseeing of: Bhaktapur Durbar Square is located in the current town of Bhaktapur, also known as Khwopa, which lies 13 km east of Kathmandu. While the complex consists of at least four distinct squares (Durbar Square, Taumadhi Square, Dattatreya Square and Pottery Square), the whole area is informally known as the Bhaktapur Durbar Square and is a highly visited site in the Kathmandu Valley. Nge Nyapa Jhya Laaykoo (55 window palace), Statue of Bhupatindra Malla, Nyatapola Temple, Lun Dhwākhā (Golden Gate), Lion's Gate, Mini Pashupati Temple and Bhairava Nath Temple are the major attraction of the square. The Durbar square is surrounded by spectacular architecture and vividly showcases the skills of the Newari artists and craftsmen over several countries. The royal palace was originally situated at Dattaraya square and was only later moved to the Durbar Square location. Return back to the hotel. Stay overnight at the hotel.

  • Day 3 | Drive Kathmandu – Pokhara (200km/6 hrs)

    After breakfast, transfer to Pokhara 200 Kms/ 6 – 7 hours drive on a private vehicle. You will witness the scenic drive on the way to Pokhara with the Trisuli river flowing alongside the highway. Upon arrival, check in at the hotel. At the evening time, one can stroll around the Phewa lake and the city. Stay overnight at the hotel.

  • Day 4 | Morning Sarangkot drive. Later half day sightseeing (3 hours)

    Early morning, drive to Sarangkot panoramic sweep of Himalayan peaks, from Dhaulagiri (8167m) in the west to the perfect pyramid of Machhapuchhare (6997m), the tent-like peak of Annapurna II (7937m) to Lamjung (6983m) in the east. Visit Bindabasini temple enroute return back to the hotel. Later drive for half day sightseeing David’s Fall, a charming little waterfall located about 2 km south-west of the Pokhara airport on the Siddhartha Highway. Phewa Lake is its source. David’s Fall attracts the visitor to view the mystery of water fall and its associated painful legend of David’s fall. Gupteswar Gupha is a mysteriously sacred cave located very close to David’s Fall. This cave holds special value for Hindus’ since a phallic symbol of Lord Shiva is preserved here in the condition it was discovered. Locally, it is also named as Gupteswar Mahadev. Seti Gandaki Gorge, a wonders of nature goes underground, vanishing from sight in many places along its route through the city. At various points the river is barely two meters wide where its depth beyond imagination. A good spot for watching the river below is Mahendra Pul, a small bridge at the center of the city. The feeling of travelling to Tibet after you see the prayer flags flapping in the breeze in the rocky valley. Tibetan Refugee Camp is home to around 200 monks. Masked dances are held here in January/February as part of the annual Losar (Tibetan New Year) celebrations. Later return back to the hotel. Stay overnight at the hotel.

  • Day 5 | Hike Australian Base Camp

    After breakfast at the hotel, we will drive till Kande and hike to Australian Base Camp. The one hour and thirty minutes hike to Australian base Camp is blessed with the panoramic view of majestic Himalayas. You will find guest houses and camping tent for overnight stay. We will then hike to Dhampus and then downhill to Phedi where your vehicle will be waiting for you to pick up. Stay overnight at the hotel.

  • Day 7 | Departure

    Your journey comes to an end with MD Adventure Travel and Tours. Our office representative will drop to Tribhuwan International Airport before 3 hours as per the rules of the Nepal government for boarding.

Required Documents For Visa Processing

Tribhuvan International Airport is the only international airport of Nepal, under Department of Immigration has been facilitating tourists flying to Nepal by providing Visa on Arrival. The visa for Nepal can be obtained from Nepalese Diplomatic Mission, you must enter Nepal within six months from the visa issued date. Your total stay is counted starting from the day you enter into Nepal. Or, one can get 'On Arrival'. Tourist Visa 'On Arrival' is the only entry visa to Nepal. If you are visiting Nepal for the purposes other than Tourism (sightseeing, tour, travel, mountaineering, trekking, visiting friends and families), you should still get ' Tourist Visa' to get into the country.  However, you must change the category of visa as per your purpose and length of stay in Nepal from Department of Immigration by producing required documents.

Nationals of following countries are requested to acquire Visa prior their arrival from their nearby Diplomatic missions (Embassies/consulates) of Nepal Government.

Visa Extension Fee

The trip cancellation policy applies as follows:

  • 60 - 30 days prior to departure 10% of the tour cost.
  • 29 - 15 days prior to departure 20% of the tour cost
  • 14 to 7 days prior to departure 60% of the tour cost.
  • 6 days or less no refunds.
